The statuette was made in 1964 as a gift to Minister Janusz Wieczorek on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Polish People's Republic. The base features a model of a jetliner in flight, with an air chessboard visible below, and an engraved dedication from Military Unit 2139, presented during official celebrations on July 22 in Warsaw.
